Afghan Hooks

by M. J. Joachim

Afghan hooks are long crochet hooks, approximately double the length of traditional crochet hooks. They are most commonly used in Tunisian crochet patterns, where crocheters cast on and cast off loops from their hook, making a beautiful close weave fabric.

It is often said that Tunisian crochet and cro-hooking are a combination of knitting and crocheting. I’m not sure if this is true, but I do thoroughly enjoy using both techniques in my work.
