Size 7.165 crochet hook

 

Row 1

Step 1:  Chain 63 + 4 more chain stitches

Step 2:  Make 3 dc in 5th chain from hook

Step 3:  Make 3 dc in 3rd chain from hook (twice)

Step 4:  Chain 13, make 3 dc in 6th chain from hook

Step 5:  Make 3 dc in 3rd chain from hook (5 times)

[Repeat Steps 4 & 5 one more time]

Step 6:  Repeat Step 4, followed by Step 3, followed by 1 dc in last chain

 


Row 2

Step 7:  Chain 3 (counts as first dc), turn; dc in 1st dc; make 3 dc between next 2 groups of 3 dcs (twice)

Step 8:  Chain 6, make 1 sc in chain 13 loop, chain 6

Step 9:  Make 5 groups of 3 dc each, between previous row of 3 dcs

[Repeat Steps 8 & 9 one more time]

Step 10:  Repeat Step 8; make 3 dc between next 2 groups of 3 dcs (twice); make 2 dc in top of turning chain

 

Row 3

Step 11:  Chain 3 (counts as 1st dc), turn; make 3 dc in space between 2nd & 3rd dc, followed by 3 dc in space between 5th & 6th dc

Step 12:  Chain 6, sc in next chain 6 loop; sc in next sc, followed by 1 sc in next chaing 6 loop; chain 6

Step 13:  Make 3 dc between each group of 3 dcs in next sequence (4 new groups of 3 dcs)

[Repeat Steps 12 & 13 one more time]

Step 14:  Repeat Step 12 one more time; make 3 dc between each of next 2 groups of 3 dc, followed by 1 dc in top of turning chain

 

Row 4

Step 15:  Chain 3, turn; make 1 dc in first dc; make 3 dc between next 2 groups of 3 dc

Step 16:  Chain 6, make 1 sc in next chain 6 loop, followed by 1 sc in each of the next scs, followed by 1 sc in next chain 6 loop; chain 6

Step 17:  Make 3 dc between each group of next 3 dcs

Step 18:  Repeat Step 16; make 3 dc between next two groups of 3 dc; make 2 dc in top chain of turning chain

Step 21:  Make 3 dc between each group of next 3 dcs

Step 43:  Chain 3, turn; make 3 dc between 2nd & 3rd dc; make 3 dc between next group of 3 dc; make 3 dc in (next) chain 6 loop

Step 44:  Chain 13, make 3 dc in next chain 6 loop; make 3 dc between each group of 3 dc and in following chain 6 loop

[Repeat Step 44 two more times; make 3 dc between last two groups of 3 dc and in space following last 3 dc; make 1 dc in top of turning chain]

 

Repeat Steps 7 – 44 twice. On last row, chain 4 instead of 13 between groups of 3 dc in Step 44 – Do not finish off

 

First Border

Step 1:  Chain 1, turn; sc in next 9 dc

Step 2:  Make {3 dc + chain 2 + 3 dc} in next chain 4 loop

Step 3:  Make 1 sc in each dc to next chain 4 loop

[Repeat Steps 2 & 3 across row, ending with 1 sc in each of last 9 dc and 1 sc in top of turning chain]

Step 4:  Chain 1, turn; sc in next sc and in each sc until you get to 1st dc in row; dc in next 3 dc

Step 5:  Make {3 dc + chain 2 + 3 dc} in chain 2 space; dc in each of next 3 dc

Step 6:  Sc in each sc until you get to next dc

[Repeat Steps 5 & 6 across row, ending with 1 sc in each of next sc to end, and 1 sc in top of turning chain

Step 7:  Repeat Step 4; make 1 dc in each dc to chain 2 space

Step 8:  Make {3 dc + picot (chain 2, slip stitch in first chain) + 3 dc in chain 2 space

Step 9:  dc in each dc and sc in each sc across row, following Step 8 for each chain 2 space

 

Finish off.

 

Second Border

Step 1:  Join thread to bottom corner on other end of doily; chain 1

Step 2:  Make 1 sc in bottom of each group of 3 dc and 4 sc in chain space between groups of 3 dc; make 6 sc between groups of 3 dc at bottom of triangles; make 1 sc in top of turning chain at end of row

Step 3:  Chain 1, turn; sc in 2nd stitch & in each stitch across row

Step 4:  Chain 3, turn; dc in 2nd stitch and in each stitch across row

Step 5:  Repeat Step 3 two more times

 

Finish off. Weave in loose ends. Steam to & lay flat to relax stitches and shape doily.
