Foundation:  Make a multiple of 6 chain (+2 more chain stitches)

Step 1:  Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook

Step 2:  Make wedge:

Chain 6, make wedge by  working consecutively taller stitches down chain 6 in the following sequence:  single crochet (sc), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), triple crochet (tr), double triple crochet (dtr)

sc = no yarn over, insert hook and draw up loop, draw through 2 loops on hook

hdc = yarn over once, insert hook and draw up a loop, draw through 3 loops on hook

dc = yarn over once, insert hook and draw up a loop, draw through 2 loops on hook (twice)

tr = yarn over twice, insert hook and draw up a loop, draw through 2 loops on hook (3 times)

dtr = yarn over 3 times, insert hook and draw up a loop, draw through 2 loops on hook (4 times)

Step 3:  Single crochet in 6th chain from hook

Step 4:  Chain 5, turn

Step 5:  Single crochet in top of 1st wedge stitch

Step 6:  Working down opposite side of wedge stitch, make a 2nd wedge (sc in 1st stitch, hdc in 2nd stitch, dc in 3rd stitch, tr in 4th stitch, dtr in 5th stitch)

Step 7:  Single crochet in top of next wedge stitch

[Repeat Steps 6 & 7 across row]

Complete row by making 1 more dtr in single crochet of previous row.

Step 8:  Chain 1, turn

Step 9:  Single crochet in first stitch; make wedge

Step 10:  Single crochet in 6th stitch from hook of previous row

[Repeat Steps 9 & 10 across row]

Repeat Steps 4 – 10 for pattern.
